Godwin Avenorgbo, renowned veteran broadcaster and Director of Communications at the Melcom Group of Companies, has passed away.
The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), where Avenorgbo worked for many years, announced his sudden death on Facebook late Monday.
Affectionately known as the “Grand Master,” Avenorgbo was active just days before his passing, serving as Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) 75th Anniversary Planning Committee. He was involved in the commemorative lecture at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel on August 15.
GBC’s social media post honored Avenorgbo with a photo of him in a relaxed pose, expressing condolences and wishing his soul peaceful rest. Avenorgbo is remembered for his distinctive voice and engaging presentation style during his long tenure at GBC and his extensive work in public relations and corporate communications across various organizations.
