A study finds that 27 out of 100 women using the “pullout method,” known scientifically as “coitus interruptus,” for a period of time are likely to unintentionally get pregnant.
Is the pullout method your go-to for natural contraception? This method has existed since ancient times and is still being practiced by either lazy men who don’t believe in condoms or pills or extremely ignorant fellows.
When combined with another method of birth control, such as a pill or a condom, withdrawal can be successful. “Dual protection” is achieved by using two kinds of contraception.
Even with ideal technique, withdrawal isn’t always successful because sperm can be discharged prior to ejaculation. This “pre-cum” or “pre-ejaculate” can result in pregnancy since it includes sperm. This is why it is not a good idea to utilize the pull-out method if you ejaculate too soon.
And you know what? It doesn’t offer protection against STIs.
If you accidentally release her inside, don’t panic. If you use emergency contraception as quickly as possible, it’s an excellent way to avoid getting pregnant.
