The transition team appointed by the president-elect for the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has questioned the overnight recruitment being done by the incumbent government.
The transition team, comprising Hon. Julius Debrah, Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Hon. Fiifi Kwetey, Dr Callistus Mahama, Dr Valerie Sawyer, Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi, Hon. Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, Hon. Goosie Tanoh, and Dr Edward Omane Boamah.
According to the National Democratic Congress’ Mr Felix Ofosu Kwakye MP-elect for the Abura Asebu-Kwamankese Constituency, the team has raised a legitimate concern regarding the overnight recruitment being done across the various governmental offices.
“The timing of the recruitment would have severe fiscal implications on the incoming government,” Mr Kwakye Ofosu warned, urging for a halt to these actions.
“We raised strong objections to these maneuvers and requested that they be put on hold. The government side agreed to this, and we will forcefully insist that this is a dangerous precedent,” Mr. Ofosu Kwakye stated.
