Highlife musician Kwabena Akwaboah says his father was his best critic when it comes to his music and cannot replace him with anyone after his death.
According to him, his success in the industry was the handiwork of his deceased father and had plans to feature him in future songs.
“When it comes to my music career, he was there for me. I am who I am today because of him. I never released a song without passing it by him. He will literally critique all the songs I sent him and trust me, he was great at what he did,” Akwaboah added.
He bemoaned that his death has left a vacuum in his heart, stressing that “with him now gone, who would be straight with me and tell it to me as it is? Indeed, it’s been tough without him and I am going to miss him greatly.”
Akwaboah Jnr said he was closer to his father and apart from Awerekyekyere (Remix) which his father featured him, there we were a number of songs he was preparing to feature his father before he kicked the bucket.
“Awerekyekyere (Remix) was his song but I also had songs I wanted to feature him on and it is unfortunate he is no more. I wanted to do collabo with my father on some selected songs from my repertoire, but that can’t be possible anymore” he added.
Veteran musician Kwadwo Akwaboah had died for over five months now and his funeral is scheduled for Friday September 29,2023 to Sunday October 1.
