FC AshantiGold ’04 have disclosed their primary objective as they make their debut in Ghana’s elite football division.
The club, modelled after the legendary, now-defunct AshantiGold FC, secured their place in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League last season.
As clubs prepare for the start of the season, head coach of FC AshantiGold ’04, Abdul Karim Zito, discussed his team’s ambitions on Max TV.
The experienced gaffer, who shockingly left top club Kumasi Asante Kotoko for FC AshantiGold in the middle of the 2025/26 season, disclosed their target for their maiden season.
“In the past years, it has been very difficult for new teams to remain in the league. Staying in the league is our target,” he said to Sports Daily host Prince Annang.
After blowing away competitors in the Division One League Zone 2, Coach Zito is keeping confidence in his players’ ability to compete in the league.
He hinted there could be incomings to shore up his team to achieve their target in the Ghana Premier League.
