Junior High School graduates are encouraged to check their results of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The regulators of the examination, the West African Examinations Council, announced at the early hours of Thursday morning the release of provisional results of the BECE.

A total of 620,243 candidates sat for the 2026 BECE—304,415 males and 315,828 females from participating schools across the country were recorded.

A total of 496 candidates, as a result of examination malpractice, saw their subject results cancelled; 105 candidates’ entire results were also cancelled; WAEC withheld the subject results of 119 candidates and entire results of 48 candidates.

The withheld results, according to WAEC, may be cancelled or released based on the outcome of their investigations by August 31, 2026.

WAEC also disclosed that the subject results of 2,722 candidates from 229 schools have been withheld for further scrutiny.

Candidates are advised to visit WAEC’s website to check their results, while those whose have been either cancelled or withheld can visit irreg.waecgh.org to learn the reason for their predicament.
