Renowned singer Kurl Songx has confessed that his career almost hit the rocks after leaving the Highly Spiritual record label, headed by Kaywa.

Though he is still singing, the momentum he garnered under Kaywa’s label has shockingly dwindled.

Speaking in an interview with Max Drive in Accra on Tuesday, Kurl Songx explained that his career was now limping due to the pressures that come with being an independent artist.

He stated that as an independent artist, he did not only focus on singing but also the creative process and means to market and distribute the songs he composed.

Kurl Songx said record labels were well-established institutions that did not only fund the artist but also groom and foresee all the creative processes in bringing the artist to the limelight.

He confessed to this when he admitted to a survey that mentioned his name as one of those Ghanaian artistes who had not been able to maintain his mantle after leaving his record label.

Kurl Songx also showed interest in joining any label if the terms were friendly and good, adding that “Ghanaians shouldn’t be surprised if one day they wake up to hear that I am back to Highly Spiritual.”

He maintained that he had a cordial relationship with Kaywa and there was no misunderstanding between them.
