Juventus FC have officially announced the departure of Thiago Motta as head coach of the Men’s First Team. The club confirmed in a statement on Sunday that Motta and his technical staff have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect.
The Bianconeri expressed their gratitude, stating:
“Juventus FC thanks Thiago Motta and his staff for their professionalism, passion, and dedication over the past months. We wish them the best for the future.”
Motta, who took charge ahead of the 2024/25 season after a successful spell at Bologna, was seen as a key figure in Juventus’ new era. His tenure introduced a progressive, possession-based style and promoted young talents, but inconsistent results and early exits from domestic and European competitions led to the club opting for a change.
Igor Tudor Returns as Juventus Head Coach
In Motta’s place, Juventus have appointed former player Igor Tudor as the new head coach. The Croatian, who played for Juventus from 1998 to 2007, will officially take charge with his first training session on Monday, March 24.
Tudor brings strong managerial experience, having previously coached Hellas Verona, where he earned praise for his high-intensity tactical system. He has also held roles at Olympique de Marseille, Galatasaray, and Hajduk Split.
His deep connection with Juventus and tactical expertise made him a natural choice as the club looks to stabilize its season and build for the future. Further updates on Tudor’s contract and backroom staff are expected in the coming days.
