It’s ‘dumb’ to think traditional media is irrelevant – Bullgod

Date:

Controversial artiste manager Lawrence Asiamah, known widely as Bullgod, says industry players who think traditional media is not relevant in music promotion are dumb.

According to him, music is about marketing, and a musician has to fill in any available space to sell music and his/her image.

Speaking exclusively on the Max Morning Show in Accra on Friday, Bullgod noted that social media and the digital space were available to help musicians reach the global audience.

However, the traditional media was also there to connect to people who might not be on the digital platforms.

He noted that traditional media projects the image of musicians and artists to connect to new people who could subscribe and follow the artists on their available streaming channels and social media platforms.

“Traditional media help people to put an image on the songs they have heard. Through traditional media like television and radio, you can even give out your social media account for the people to follow you, and these people will become your fans,” Bullgod explained.

He noted that digital platforms and social media were to complement the traditional media for artists to increase their reach and numbers.

Touching on the importance of the traditional media, Bullgod stated that the avenues created by a traditional media promote a political discourse about musicians while creating buzz that could reflect the musicians in the eyes and minds of the people.

Such a medium, he said, should not be underrated and urged all musicians and artists to make good use of it to always be in the minds of the people.
