The Unbreakable Joyce Blessing says she least expected to bounce back in the industry after her marital scandal.
According to her, she thought her dreams and her singing career hit the rocks along with her marriage.
Speaking in an interview with Max Drive in Accra on Wednesday, the “Victory” hitmaker stated that least did she know that God was using the moment for a bigger breakthrough.
“Per what people were saying, if you’re gospel art and you pass through such a scandal, it will be very hard for you to bounce back. Based on that, I thought everything had crashed, not knowing God was preparing a bigger stage for me,” she stated.
Recounting her ordeal, the multiple award-winning singer said it was a period where she became the trending topic, so she decided to stay away from social media; she never listened to radio and even disconnected her active phone lines to save herself from emotional stress, social media jabs, and untrue stories about her.
“From then, if I say what God has done for me, I wouldn’t be able to tell because where he sent me was far better than what I used to get. What I can say is that in every tribulation, God will find a way to make you excel beyond imagination. That’s why my new song ‘Over Do’ narrates all my struggles and life-threatening experiences, which God glorified me through it all,” she said.
It could be recalled that in the year 2021, the gospel musician was accused of infidelity, and her then husband, Dave Joy, allegedly performed a secret DNA test on their three kids, and the test revealed that one of the children was not his.
However, Joyce Blessing came out to deny the allegations of cheating and later sued her husband.
In the series of scandals, a video of Joyce Blessing went viral in which she was visibly drunk, mentioning the name of a man. Her management claimed the video was done for her former husband, but Dave Joy also dismissed the claims.
After she bounced back, the unbreakable gospel chanteuse released songs including “Victory,” “Adam Nana,” and now “OVER DO,” and has even endorsed “Top Choco, as well as performing at both the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress’ political campaign.
Joyce Blessing is looking forward to more ambassadorial deals and has promised fans more spirit-driven songs.
