With the arrival of a new head coach, Carlos Queiroz, there is a high possibility of a new number one goalkeeper being selected.

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has held the position of being the first choice goalkeeper for the Black Stars of Ghana since 2025.

Asare, though impressing throughout the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, has no shortage of doubters, especially after giving away a goal to Mexico in Ghana’s last international friendly.

Coach Queiroz currently has four goalkeepers in camp ahead of the pre-world cup friendly against Wales.

They include Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Joseph Annan, and Solomon Agbesi.
