Minister for Finance Designate, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is determined to succeed and deliver on his promises when he officially assumes office.
Hon. Ato Forson, also a Member of Parliament for the people of Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam under the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), went through vetting by the Appointments Committee chaired by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Benard Ahiafor, on Monday, January 13, 2024.
The 46-year-old assured the committee that his decisions as Finance Minister will be guided by his constructive criticisms shared on the floor of Parliament during the ruling of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“I’ve said a lot in the past, and I cannot say one thing and do another. I’m committed to being consistent and delivering on my promises,” he said.
Having once served as deputy finance minister during the first term of H.E. John Dramani Mahama from March 2013 to January 2017, the University of Oxford-educated Forson, has shown through his words at the committee his determination to leave a lasting legacy, as he bids to improve the economy of Ghana.
