High Court Grants GHC30M Bail to Socialite Abu Trica

Date:

Popular socialite and businessman Abu Trica has finally been granted bail of GHC30 million with two sureties by the Accra High Court.

Known privately as Emmanuel Kojo Baah Obeng or Frederick Kumi, he was re-arrested shortly after the High Court threw out his certiorari application challenging proceedings on January 26, 2026.

Abu Trica’s bail was made public by his counsel or lawyer Oliver Barker-Vormawor on social media, stating, “The High Court has just granted bail to Abu Trica… Shalom.”

Abu Trica is facing romance fraud allegations, for which the United States of America has submitted an extradition request to the Ghanaian authorities.
