GREAT OLYMPICS 0-0 HEARTS OF OAK: Phobia, Dade Boys play out goalless draw

Date:

At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, December 22, 2023, Great Olympics played host to city rivals Hearts of Oak in the Ga-Mashie derby in Oseikrom, which ended in a goalless tie.

The Phobians had the greatest chances, but the first half finished in a scoreless draw even after Salifu Ibrahim was set up by Enoch Asubonteng, but the cross bar denied him.

Asubonteng missed an opportunity to put his team ahead when he attempted to head in Kashala’s cross from close range.

Michael Osei made a couple poor choices that cost the Dade Boys a number of chances to take the lead.

Similar to the first half, Hearts dominated the second, although substitutes Cisse and Hamza Issah came dangerously near to ending the tie.

The Phobians were left furious when the referee had ruled out a penalty during stoppage time.

At the end of the both sides had to split the points to maintain their places in the league rankings, with Hearts—who had played one more game than Olympics—occupying 10th place and The Wonder Club in 11th.
