GPL Week 29 Preview: Hearts host Medeama, Inter Allies play Kotoko

Date:

The Ghana Premier League is getting to its tail end and all the teams are looking to pick up maximum points in their respective games.

This weekend will see Week 29 games played across all league centers.

Hearts of Oak have a big game against Medeama and Kotoko will travel to Dawu to face Inter Allies.

1. Elmina Sharks vs Eleven Wonders

The first game of Week 29 sees the two sides battle it out to move further away from the relegation zone.

Sharks sit just a place above Ebusua Dwarfs who are 16th on the table. They have not won a game in their last five matches and will need these three points badly.

For Eleven Wonders they sit 13th and will want to continue their fine form which has seen them win their last two games.

The game will be live on StarTimes and Max TV as well.

2. Aduana Stars vs Liberty Professionals

Aduana Stars will host Liberty Professionals at Dormaa. Aduana is winless in their last three games and will need to put up a great performance to snatch all three points.

Liberty on the other hand have won their last two games and will be going into this one with confidence.

3. AshantiGold vs Ebusua Dwarfs

AshantiGold have been very poor and have won only once in their last five league games.

They will host relegation bound Ebusua Dwarfs at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium and this presents them an opportunity to move up the table.

Dwarfs will be hoping to build on their last week’s win over Aduana Stars as they need the points to move out of the relegation zone.

4. Bechem United vs Berekum Chelsea

A proper Bono derby which Bechem United will need to win to move them further away from the relegation zone.

Bechem United have gone five games without a victory and coming up against Berekum Chelsea will be a tough one.

5. Karela vs Legon Cities

Karela will play host to in form Legon Cities at their Anyinase CAM Park.

Karela lost 1-0 to Medeama last week and they will need to get back to winning ways.

For Legon Cities they will want to continue their impressive form which has seen them rise to 9th.

6. King Faisal vs Great Olympics

Big test for Great Olympics who drew 1-1 with Hearts of Oak last week.

They travel to Techiman to play King Faisal who have not won in their last two games.

7. WAFA vs Dreams FC

WAFA plays Dreams at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena. Both teams look safe from relegation but this is expected to be highly contested.

8. Hearts of Oak vs Medeama SC

Both teams will only be aiming for three points as they are in the running for the league title. The Phobians had gone five games without a defeat but dropped points last week against Great Olympics.

Medeam after recording some bad results won last week against Karela and will want to continue that form when they play Hearts on Sunday.

Coach of Hearts of Oak Samuel Boadu will need his side to play above themselves as he faces his former team.

9. Inter Allies vs Kotoko

This game scheduled for Monday is a top vs bottom clash. Allies rooted firmly at the bottom of the GPL table will play Kotoko who are challenging for the title.

Baretto’s men will be confident going into the game and aim for all three points.
