South African second division side Black Leopards FC target promotion to the South African top flight after confirming former Ghanaian international Maxwell Konadu as its new head coach.
The ‘Lidoda Duvha’, as they are popularly referred to in South Africa, are looking to win promotion back to the Premier Soccer League.
Eric Aligadede, general manager of Nsoatreman FC, swiftly refuted reports of Konadu leaving for the South African club on Monday evening.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Black Leopards announced the appointment of the Ghanaian gaffer on Tuesday, July 2.
The chairman of the First National Division side, Tshifhiwa Thidiela, expressed his elation at the capture of Konadu, who led Nsoatreman to the 2023–24 MTN FA Cup title.
“I think if you look at his CV, it speaks volumes. Obviously, because we want to achieve, we want to then get the best that we possibly can that can fit properly,” he said.
Black Leopards are confident of their chances of promotion to the Premier Soccer League with the former Black Stars assistant coach at the helm.
