The Ghana Education Service (GES) has fully reinstated Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in all pre-tertiary schools across the country, following a directive from President John Dramani Mahama.
In a statement released on Thursday, July 17, GES Public Relations Head Daniel Fenyi announced that all Heads of Public Senior High, Technical, and STEM schools have been instructed to reactivate PTAs with immediate effect.
The GES explained that the move aims to enhance collaboration between parents, teachers, and communities in delivering quality education nationwide.
Further guidelines outlining the structure, responsibilities, and financial accountability of PTAs will be released soon. These are expected to promote transparency, uniformity, and efficiency in PTA operations.
GES concluded by calling on all stakeholders to support the smooth rollout of this important policy.
