The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) has projected an upward adjustment in fuel prices at retail stations beginning July 1, 2025, marking the first price hike since February 2025.
At a news conference in Accra, COMAC CEO, Dr. Riverson Oppong, revealed that petrol prices may rise by 2 percent, diesel by 5 percent, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) could see an increase of just over 1 percent.
“Even before the implementation of the amended Energy Sector Levy, which has been suspended, our projections indicate that pump prices may be going up,” Dr. Oppong stated.
He explained that the forecast is based on comprehensive analysis, including National Petroleum Authority (NPA) price build-ups and global market factors.
Dr. Oppong also called for a regulatory review of Ghana’s petroleum downstream sector, emphasizing the need for more cost-effective and efficient operational frameworks.
