Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah and other football legends joined ex-teammate Prince Tagoe to bid farewell to his mother, Reverend Joyce Tagoe.
Reverend Tagoe, a clergy member at Kairos Chapel’s Matuero Assembly in East Legon, passed away in November 2024 at the age of 69.
Her burial and funeral rites drew notable figures, including Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari, Kwadwo Asamoah, Tony Baffoe, Sam Johnson, Isaac Vorsah, and representatives from Accra Hearts of Oak.
In a heartfelt message, Prince Tagoe expressed deep gratitude for the love and support shown during his time of grief. “Your words comforted us. Your support strengthened us. Your love sustained us. We are deeply thankful for your kindness and blessings,” he wrote, adding that such gestures would always be remembered.
The ceremony highlighted not only a farewell to a beloved mother but also the unity and solidarity within Ghana’s football community.
