President-elect John Dramani Mahama has announced that President Nana Akufo-Addo has pledged to ensure a smooth and peaceful transfer of power.
Both leaders have agreed to begin the transition process earlier than expected, with discussions set to commence on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
In his victory speech following the Electoral Commission’s declaration, Mahama emphasized the importance of cooperation between the outgoing and incoming administrations to foster national progress.
He expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for his congratulations and their collaborative approach to the transition.
“We have agreed on an early inauguration of the joint transition team as early as Wednesday, 11th December,” Mahama stated, underscoring the significance of unity in the transition process.
