Transfer Talk: Luka Modric to join Italian club next season

Date:

Captain for the Croatian national team, Luka Modric, seems to have decided on the next phase of his career.

Spanish news portal Fichajes, has reported that the Real Madrid legend, Modric, will move to Italy at the end of the 2024-25 season to join Serie A side Como as a free agent.

The 39-year-old star is in his last season with the Spanish giants after joining the club in 2012, courtesy of the demand made by then manager Jose Mourinho to sign him.

Como, a traditional Italian club led by former Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas, is currently battling to stay in the league after earning promotion from Serie B in the 2023-24 season.

Modric has scored 28 times in his 375 appearances for Real Madrid, winning four La Liga titles, three Copa del Rey, five Supercopa de Espana, six UEFA Champions League, five UEFA Super Cup, and five FIFA Club World Cup.
