Discard ‘Ghana Month,’ Celebrate Africa Month— Tourism Expert

Date:

Story by Samuella Mantebea Okantah

Kwame Boadu-Ansong, a tourism analyst, has expressed the need for Ghanaians to continue to project the rich culture of the country to all of Africa.

He insisted that March should not only be celebrated as ‘Ghana month’ but also as ‘Africa month’ since Ghana was the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to gain independence from the Europeans.

Quoting the words of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah on the day of independence, he stressed the significance on celebrating the liberation of the African continent.

He declares that this dream of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah has been achieved, yet Ghanaians only celebrate ‘Ghana Month’, while the originator of this vision wanted it for the whole of Africa.
