Accra Newtown School Collapse: Sad Veep Offers Condolences

The Vice President, Her Excellency Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, visited the site of a collapsed multi-story building at Accra Newtown, where she was provided with an in-depth account of the incident.

She expressed discomfort as she thought this incident could have been very preventable and urged strict building compliance.

She was escorted by the minister for the interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, as well as officials from the Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, National Ambulance Service, and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).

Following the site visit, she visited injured victims at the 37 Military Hospital, Police Hospital, and the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).

On behalf of the president, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, she offered condolences to affected families and victims.
