Cape Coast Electrifies with Orange Friday towards Fetu Afahye

The capital town of the Central Region of Ghana, Cape Coast, buzzed with excitement on Friday, September 6, 2024, as the city came alive with Orange Friday, marking the grand finale of the 60th Fetu Afahye festival.

The ancient city was awash in a sea of orange, as residents and visitors alike donned their finest orange attire, setting the tone for a vibrant celebration.

This iconic day, steeped in tradition and cultural significance, marked six decades as a cornerstone of the Oguaa Traditional Area and corresponded with the 25th anniversary of the enstoolment of the Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area. The people of Oguaa joyfully celebrated their rich heritage, showcasing their unique customs, music, and artistry.

The 60th-anniversary celebrations delivered a weekend of non-stop excitement, packed with activities like traditional drumming, dancing, and a walk on the streets of Cape Coast.

The city came together to mark this significant milestone, and the atmosphere was electrified. Residents, visitors, and dignitaries united in their joy, pride, and appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of the Oguaa Traditional Area. Orange Friday kicked off an unforgettable weekend in Cape Coast.
