#BlackStarsAbroad: Salis Samed booted to reserves by new gaffer

Date:

The manager of French Ligue 1 side RC Lens, Will Still, has made his intentions about Black Stars midfielder Abdul Salis Samed very clear by sending him to the reserves to train.

Still, 31, joined as new manager of the French side from Stade Reims after leading them to an eleventh place finish in the 2023-24 Ligue 1 season.

There may be some friction between Salis and the new gaffer, as he admitted he had to reduce the size of the squad for the well being of the team.

“For the well-being of the group and the training sessions, it was necessary to trim the group a little,” Still said in an interview.

RC Lens is expected to let go of the Ghanaian international, whose contract runs until June 2028
