Azamati beaten to 60m title in Millrose Games

Date:

Ghanaian sprinter Benjamin Azamati finished fourth in the 60-meter final dash at the 117th Millrose Games in New York City.

Currently ranking 40th in the 100-meter category, Azamati fell behind Marcellus Moore, who won the race by equalling his personal best of 6.56 seconds on Saturday, February 8, 2025.

Azamati finished ahead of Puerto Rico’s Miles Lewis (6.64 sec), J.T. Smith (6.67 sec), and Nigel Green (6.69 sec).

Trayvon Bromell (6.59 sec) and Pjai Austin (6.61 secs) joined Moore on the podium after finishing second and third, respectively.

The defending African Games 4×100-meter relay champion nearly missed out on grabbing his first medal of the 2025 Athletic Calendar.
