From Classroom to Flag Bearer: Dr Adutwum Files Nomination

Date:

Former Minister of Education Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, on Thursday, August 28, 2025, filed his nomination for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership.

The elections, which are to select a flagbearer to lead the NPP into the 2028 election, will come off on January 31, 2026.

He is rivalled by the 2024 presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia; former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong; and former Food and Agriculture Minister, Bryan Acheampong.

Ghana, he said while at the party’s headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra, would change for the best under his rule, and therefore he urged delegates to vote for him.

People always remember Dr Adutwum for bringing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education to Ghana and revitalising technical and vocational education and training.
