Ghana’s Minister-designate for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has voiced concerns about the uncertainty surrounding Black Stars head coach Otto Addo’s future.
Speaking to the media, Adams shared that doubts about Addo’s leadership extend beyond fans and officials to some players and both current and former GFA members.
“The future of Otto Addo is a matter of concern to me. This stay-or-leave discussion isn’t just from non-playing staff but also within the playing body,” Adams said.
Addo, who previously worked with Borussia Dortmund, has faced strong criticism after Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 AFCON. However, the GFA’s Executive Council voted to keep him.
With the 2026 World Cup qualifiers approaching, the GFA has revamped Addo’s technical team in an effort to turn things around. Adams, who appeared before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on January 30, is expected to be sworn in as Sports Minister soon.
