Ivory Coast secured their place in the WAFCON 2026 quarter-finals after beating Tanzania 2-1 in their final Group B match.
The Elephants controlled the contest and took the lead shortly before halftime through N’Sira Ouédraogo, who struck in the 44th minute.
Reynald Pedros’ players then carried their advantage into the second half, looking to secure qualification despite Tanzania pulling one back.
In the other group encounter Burkina Faso needed all three points to book a place in the quarterfinals, but South Africa struck first and never looked back.
Thembi Kgatlana broke the deadlock in the 21st minute, finishing calmly after being played through by Fikile Magama to give Banyana Banyana a 1-0 lead before halftime.
South Africa held firm defensively to secure a 1-0 victory, a result that proved enough to send them into the knockout stage.
