Stonebwoy dares Charterhouse to declare the winner of 2019 Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year

Date:

Reggae/Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has called on Charterhouse, the organizers of TGMA, to announce the winner of the 2019 Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year.

According to him, he won the artiste of the year but an act initiated by his close contender, Shatta Wale distorted the process of his declaration as the winner.

The announcement of the said award was halted and eventually the program was cancelled after a massive fight broke out between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale, leading to their suspension from the award scheme for a year.

After five years of that terrific incident, Stonebwoy has declared himself the winner of the ultimate award in that year, urging the organizers to do the necessary.

He strongly believed that he won the award that night and, if confirmed, he would become the only artiste in history to have won Artiste of the year three times in Ghana.

“I have been very hardworking throughout the years. Ever since I won the Ghana Music Artiste of the Year in 2015, I won it again in 2019 but we all saw what happened.”

“So I just want to plead with Charterhouse, as honourable as they are to make that they announce the winner, which I am confident that it was Stonebwoy for 2019, and then this in 2024,” he asserted.

Stonebwoy said this in his acceptance speech after winning Artiste of the Year at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

He won six awards at the night, making him the only artist to have won big at Ghana’s biggest music night.

This is Stonebwoy’s second TGMA Artiste of the Year award, after winning for the first time in 2015.

He is the third artiste in history, besides rapper Sarkodie and the group VIP, to achieve this milestone.
