Stonebwoy: Friendship With Shatta Is Genuine, Not Camera Stunt

Date:

Stonebwoy, known in real life as Livingstone Etse Satekla, has said his stiff and later friendship with Shatta Wale was genuine, never planned, and not a media stunt.

Stonebwoy said this in an interview with an Accra-based radio station, on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.

“The beef between Shatta and I was never planned, it’s not a thing we were trying to do for the cameras or we do for the masses so that somebody will sit at home and feel like we are playing with their hearts… I will never mislead anybody to create some kind of hype over that type of stuff …,” Stonebwoy said.

“When they saw me and Shatta come out to make peace, it was not for the camera… It was for the fight that was happening in the ghettos, it was for the blood shared…,” he added.

The reggae singer said their beef had affected their fans and the best thing to do was to lay down their egos to make peace for their sake.

“Some Shatta fans couldn’t go through some ends, some Bhim fans couldn’t go through some ends…. the best (thing) we could do is not lead them astray, but to also lay down our egos regardless of whatever it will be, and make peace for their sake so that they can continue to enjoy our music and our song and support either of us in peace,” he explained.

Stonebwoy further said that he does not appreciate some people ridiculing the efforts he and Shatta Wale are making to ensure that there is peace, always.

“We laid down our egos and made peace for all our sake, by doing so we have taught them that there is one unifier which is peace,” he said.

Stonebwoy added that although he and Shatta Wale are friends now, that alone doesn’t mean that they sit somewhere to enjoy all day.

“…That does not immediately interpret into Shatta Wale and I are sitting together and enjoying at his house, and all of a sudden we are best friends. No, friendship grows, friendship starts from somewhere and it continues to grow onto a certain level..,” he added.
