A woman who is trying to break the record for the longest singing marathon by an individual, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, has called on the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to ensure rapid power supply to strengthen her sing-a-thon.
The singing marathon is coming off this Sunday, December 24 to Wednesday, December 27 at Akwaaba Village.
Afua Asantewaa made this appeal at a press briefing in Accra to announce her readiness for the upcoming challenge.
She said her outfit was ready and everything had been set up for her success; however, the onus then lied on the ECG to provide consistent power to generate her event.
“I am pleading with the ECG not to cut off the electricity supply from December 24 through to the first week of January; at least, please, ECG,” Afua Asantewaa pleaded.
Plans, she said, were far advanced to generate power with the use of UPS and generators, should there be a power outage.
She also charged stakeholders to keep supporting her, as she promised to make Ghana proud and prayed for a successful event.
Afua Asantewaa wants to beat the Guinness record for the longest singing marathon by singing 2,300 songs from Ghana for at least 117 hours.
