Captain of the Black Stars Andre Ayew is not part of the latest team to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Otto Addo selected a 26-man squad, leaving out Andre Ayew, the player with the most caps for the senior national team.
During the 2023–24 season, the 34-year-old midfielder made 19 appearances for Le Havre, netting six goals.
Based on the Ghanaian veteran’s performance in France, the coach’s decision to bench him (Ayew) is rather daring .
The University of Ghana Stadium in Legon will host the Black Stars’ training camp start on Thursday.
