2024-25 GPL: Hearts of Oak finally record a win

Date:

After back-to-back defeats, Accra Hearts of Oak have finally recorded a victory in a matchday three encounter of the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League against Bechem United.

The Phobians, who had been enduring a torrid start into the new season, took on their opponents on Sunday evening at their newly adopted home grounds, the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Young striker Hamza Mohammed sealed the win for Hearts of Oak eleven minutes to the 90 after Ransford Mensah had smashed the home side into the lead with a beautiful free-kick from the edge of the box.

This win comes as a relief for the club’s hierarchy after having come under huge pressure to dismiss head coach Aboubakar Ouattara following a disappointing start to the season.
