Auxerre left-back Gideon Mensah has called for support for the Black Stars of Ghana ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March.
The Black Stars, since failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, would make their first appearance in the 2025 calendar year on March 17 and 24.
Despite acknowledging the team’s shortcomings in 2024, the 26-year-old with 26 caps for the four-time African champions urged fans to get behind the team ahead of the games against Chad and Madagascar.
The Black Stars are looking towards a fresh start by bagging victories in the two matches and topping Group I standings of the African qualifiers.
Mensah is expected to be part of Coach Otto Addo’s squad to be released in a few days for the World Cup qualifiers.
