Head coach of the Black Galaxies Kassim Mingle has expressed optimism ahead of the international friendly against South Africa.
Bound for the forthcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the Bafana Bafana of South Africa announced a friendly match against Ghana on Tuesday, December 9.
With the majority of the Black Stars of Ghana being unavailable despite not making it to the tournament, the onus falls on the Black Galaxies to face Bafana Bafana.
The match will serve as a preparatory match for the South Africans, who will kick off their 2025 AFCON campaign on December 21, and provide an opportunity for Coach Mingle to assess the strength of the Black Galaxies.
Despite the daunting task of facing a full-strength South African team, Coach Mingle has assured his team they will go head-on with their opponent.
“We are not going to disgrace ourselves. We are going to prove a point… We are not afraid of them. Although we have to respect them, we are not afraid of them,” he said on Max FM’s Sports Pack.
