The president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, was visibly elated with the outcome of Ghana’s match with Chad on Friday, March 21, 2025.
On the back of a poor 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, the Black Stars of Ghana approached the 2025 calendar year with much optimism and the mindset of resetting things.
Just like the political agenda of the sitting president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, the GFA made significant changes to the technical team and management committee of the Black Stars ahead of the resumption of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Kurt Okraku spoke to Nana Darkwa Gyasi of Max FM and Max TV after Ghana physically, emotionally, and mentally crushed Chad 5-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium in game five of the World Cup qualifiers.
“Today has been our day. We very much needed this victory to reset our desired vision of making it to the mundial. Like the technical team said and promised that it will be a night to remember, indeed today has been a night we will always remember,” he said.
Fans of the Black Stars would be hoping the team maintains its position at the summit of Group I after taking on Madagascar in their next game in Casablanca, Morocco, on Monday, March 24.
