Ghana’s number one goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare, has expressed the readiness of the Black Stars to face bitter rivals Nigeria at the 2025 Unity Cup.
The Unity Cup, a competition aimed at bringing together different cultures and fostering togetherness, will kick off on Tuesday, May 27, and climaxes on Saturday, May 31.
Benjamin Asare, Razack Simpson, and Kwame Opoku departed Accra for London at the dawn of morning on Saturday, May 24, to meet the rest of the squad ahead of the game against Nigeria on Wednesday, May 28.
“Ghana and Nigeria are highly rated and tough. However, we psyched and prepared to face the Nigerians,” Asare said to Max TV’s Josiah Okoe Quaye at the Kotoka International Airport.
The Ghana Premier League stars are looking to get regular minutes in the tournament and have targeted a final clash with Jamaica on May 31.
Ghana’s Black Stars will tackle the Super Eagles of Nigeria at 7 p.m. All matches of the Unity Cup will be aired live on Max TV.
