Sudan vs. Ghana: Kwesi Appiah dents Black Stars hopes of reaching Morocco

Date:

The Black Stars of Ghana have suffered yet another setback in their bid to qualify for the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations following a 2-0 defeat to Sudan in Benina, Libya.

Otto Addo and his charges must be rueing luck as their goal was disallowed in the 47th minute of the second half after Inaki Williams was adjudged to be in an offside position when he tapped home the ball from close range.

The Sudanese responded with two quick-fire goals, stunning the Black Stars through Mahmoud and Abdel Rahman in the 61st minutes and the 64th minutes, respectively.

Sudan’s victory all but ends Ghana’s hope of reaching Morocco for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, should they maintain their fine form against Angola and Niger.
