Oh, what a glorious day it was, as seasoned men of God from all over the country converged at the Calvary Baptist Church, Shiashie, to celebrate the retirement of Rev. Dr. Fred Primrose Deegbe.
Rev. Dr. Fred Deegbe, affectionately called “Pastor Fred” by many, officially retired from office as the Senior Pastor of the oldest Baptist Church in Ghana, Calvary Baptist Church, on Saturday, February 17, 2025.
Pastor Fred, who turned the golden age of 70 on Sunday, February 9, 2025, has been a huge pillar in the Christian community; not only has he impacted Ghanaians with his warmth, love, and dedication to nation building, but also tens of thousands around the globe.
Rev. Eastwood Anaba shared how the humble Pastor Fred, under the direction of the late Rev. Alfred Stevenson Williams, fanned his fire for God’s work through discipleship classes and baptism at Calvary Baptist Church, Adabraka, in his younger days.
Witnessing the likes of Apostle Jude Hama, Rev. Dr. Samuel Otu-Pimpong, Rev. Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi, Rev. Dr. Steven Wingham, Uncle Ebo Whyte, Rev. Bennet Niboi, Apostle Torkonoo, Rev. Derek Koomson, Rev. Mallet, and other dignitaries sing of his selfless service to bring many to the saving grace of Christ Jesus would make any youngster yearn more for the fire of God to at least emulate a fraction of Rev. Fred Deegbe.
Though he may have officially retired from office, he yearns to continue raising generations of leaders who would stand firm, holding the banner of God, especially in these perilous times we see.
To Rev. Dr. Fred Primrose Deegbe, God bless for the many lives you’ve touched, the families you raised, and your role in ensuring Ghana remains the peaceful country known to mankind.
Rev. Dr. Frederick Primrose Deegbe
