President Akufo-Addo donates GH¢50k to support World Cup winner Sellas Tetteh

Date:

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has offered Sellas Tetteh, a former head coach of Ghana’s U20 team, support. Since last year, Tetteh has been battling disease.

On Monday, February 20, a delegation from the Ministry visited the coach’s Accra house on behalf of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and presented him with a GH50,000 check to help with his medical expenses.

The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Evans Opoku Bobie, noted the coach’s good health and emphasized the importance of the visit to check on the coach.

He stressed Tetteh’s crucial position and contribution to the development of Ghanaian football.

Michael Lassey Teivi, the brother of the coach, thanked the president for the kind gesture and reassured him that the funds would be put to good use.

The delegation wished the coach a speedy recovery and promised to return frequently to check on him.

Sellas Tetteh led the Ghana U20 team to victory at the FIFA U20 World Cup in 2009.
