Parliament has approved the first batch of ministers nominated by President John Mahama after their vetting by the Appointments Committee.

The nominees include Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, MP for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam, as Minister of Finance; John Jinapor, MP for Yapei-Kusawgu, as Minister of Energy; and Dr. Dominic Ayine, MP for Bolgatanga East, as Attorney-General and Minister for Justice.

The approval came after extensive deliberations on Tuesday, January 21, during a session presided over by Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah Amoako. Both the Majority and Minority caucuses unanimously endorsed the nominees, citing their competence and track record.

This marks a key step in President Mahama’s effort to assemble a capable ministerial team to tackle pressing national challenges.
