Gifty Assifuah is ready to strike for the Black Queens of Ghana against Guinea today.
The 1207 Ataly Spor forward happens to be a direct sister to former Ghana International, Ebenezer Assifuah.
Inspired by her brother, Gifty pursued football as she begun professionally with Secondi Hasaacas Ladies before joining Halifax Ladies in 2019.
In 2021 she moved to Turkey to play in the Turkish Women’s Football Super League side for 1207 Antalya Spor.
The Assifuah family is the first & the only family in Ghana from where siblings (a brother & a sister) have played for the Black Stars & the Black Queens respectively.
Ebenezer Assifuah (Black Stars) & Gifty Assifuah (Black Queens). Incidentally, both played for the respective Senior National teams at age 22.
Ebenezer in March 2016 and Gifty in 2023. It has never happened before.
