The head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Otto Addo, has been urged by a former Ghana international, Augustin Arhinful to be more expansive with his style of football.
Ahinful, 50, with all his wealth of football experience, charged the under-fire Black Stars head coach to be adventurously expansive and shun the conservative style.
The Black Stars, while playing at home during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, deployed a two-man pivot, which baffled a number of football analysts, criticizing the gaffer’s tactics.
“Otto Addo is always conscious in his approach to the game. I always see him play two defensive midfielders, being it playing away games or home games,” Ahinful said in an interview.
Ahinful therefore urged him to consider switching his style of playing ahead of the resumption of the 2025 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
“So I would advise playing away, because you are not too sure you can play two defensive midfielders, but when you are at home, you must be offensive,” he added.
