ORAL Committee Reports 2,417 Corruption Cases to Mahama

Date:

President Mahama commended the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) Committee for their dedication, highlighting their voluntary service without remuneration. He assured that every recovered pesewa would be reinvested in national development, emphasizing that Ghana is no longer a haven for corruption.

The President handed the report to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, directing an immediate probe into the cases for necessary action.

In a proactive move against corruption, the ORAL team was established and began its work even before the President’s swearing-in. On Monday, February 10, the committee submitted its report at the Jubilee House, detailing 2,417 complaints of suspected corruption.

These complaints stemmed from public submissions following the committee’s call for reports on corruption. The committee received 1,493 complaints via a toll-free line and 924 through emails.

Chairman of the committee and Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa, addressed the President before presenting the report. He noted that Ghanaians are deeply concerned about corruption and are eager to see decisive action from the administration.
