The former Bechem United coach arrived in the country on Sunday via France Air to begin his job with the Obuasi-based side.
Romain Folz said he was convinced by AshantiGold Sporting Director Nana Kwesi Darlington to take the job.
The French coach replaces Milovan Cirkovic who parted ways with the club due to health reasons.

Romain Folz will lead AshGold when they travel away to face league leaders Karela United at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park (CAM Park) on matchday 18 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
