Head Coach of Heartland FC, Christian Obi, has died in a fatal accident on the night of Thursday, August 23, with some of the players suffering severe injuries.
The team was on their way to Abakaliki in Ebonyi State, Nigeria, for the Ifeanyi Ekwueme TICO/SELECT preseason tournament.
The late 57-year-old coach, Obi, was a goalkeeper for Nigeria’s youth team that participated at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
