Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa engaged the Acting US Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Rolf Olson, on Monday, December 1, 2025, on relevant bilateral matters.

Ghana’s foreign affairs minister disclosed the purpose of the meeting with the American ambassador on social media, which drew somewhat funny responses.

Netizens humorously quizzed Hon. Ablakwa on whether he discussed the extradition of former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

Ofori-Atta was Ghana’s finance minister for seven years during the administration of former president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and is currently deemed a fugitive from justice.

The former minister and cousin of the country’s immediate past president through his lawyers claimed he’s in poor health, making him unable to return to Ghana from Washington DC, USA.
