Nana Yaa Agyare, who is a Radio/TV personality, actress, voice coach, singer, lecturer and song writer, has revealed the reason why she is called “The Brand”.
Speaking in an interview with Host, Oheneba Marshall on Up Close show on Max TV, Nana Yaa Agyare, who started stage acting in the year 1995, mentioned how she was given the name “The Brand”.
Nana Yaa Agyare, who is the host of “Hot Ice”, a music-based lunch time show on Max 89.7 FM in Accra, said “When we say you are a brand then you are one of the brands, but when we say you are the brand then you are the only Brand.”
“Let me tell you how it happened and big ups to One Broadcaster all the way in Sunyani,” she added.
Nana Yaa further said “I went there for something, we were having a conversation and I was listening hard so I decided to contribute.”
“And then he said I was saying the bitter truth. I continued giving out more great punch lines. Then he said because of that he would be calling me The Brand.”
“That was a long time ago. One time, years and years later on I was sitting down and was looking at my life and I was realizing that I was really packaging myself in a certain way that is different from everyone else, then I remembered The Brand. So I said ok lets call me The Brand.
Nana Yaa Agyare A.K.A The Brand is the Programmes Manager of Max FM. She is also a Journalism Tutor at Radio Broadcast Development Foundation.
She has been nominated for the Outstanding Film Personality award by the National Communications Awards.
