As part of King Mohammed VI’s vision to develop Morocco’s football infrastructure that will elevate Morocco to the highest global platform, the country is set to build the world’s largest stadium.
The tent-shaped stadium, named the Grand Stade Hassan II, will hold a capacity of 125,000 in Casablanca.
The architecture firm behind the project, Oualalou + Choi, in collaboration with global sports design experts Populous, is believed to intend blending tradition with cutting-edge design, making it a true marvel in the world of sports architecture.
François Clément, Senior Principal, President of Populous France, and Lead Architect for the project, stated, “The Grand Stade Hassan II will provide extraordinary spaces that create exceptional experiences for every fan and every visitor.
The infrastructure will have a unique aluminum lattice, as the rooftop will be supported by a ring of thirty-two stairways, creating grand entrances framed by lush gardens elevated on 28-meter platforms.
Deep rooted in Moroccan culture, the stadium will provide luxurious hospitality areas, including VIP and VVIP lounges, offer luxury beyond the standard matchday experience.
The wonder infrastructure will serve as a source of pride for the people Morocco, looking at what the country has achieved in recent years.
